Adam Smythe is an artist working with ambiguous relationships between disparate forms. Dealing with a range of often nostalgic forms such as Bauhaus theatre, architecture journals, and mainstream films, the work attempts to re-open closed historical moments through appropriation. Building relationships which in the one case support each other only to later collapse inward.
